BELIEF STATEMENT

Everything that Menifee Hills Bible Church does is founded upon the truth set forth in the Bible, which is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews4:12). These beliefs serve as a bedrock of our ministry (Matthew 7:24). (Menifee Hills Bible Church is a Baptist Fellowship)

BIBLE

The Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God and inerrant in the original writings.

Read More about The Bible

We believe the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the verbally inspired Word of God.  It is inerrant in the original writings, and should be upheld as the supreme and final authority in faith and life. 2 Tim. 3:16, 2 Pet. 1:19-21.

GOD

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, undefiled and without sin, and is truly God. We believe in His death on the cross for our sins, His burial, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, and present ministry there as high priest and advocate for us. Matt.1:20,Lk.1:35, Jn. 1:1,2,14, Jn. 14:9, Acts 1:8-11, Heb. 4:14-16, I Jn. 2:1.
HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit is a Divine Person, possessing all the attributes of God and qualities of personhood.

Read More about the Holy Spirit
By the Holy Spirit believers are called, regenerated, baptized into Christ, indwelt, sealed and filled for service.

The distinction between the ministry of the Holy Spirit in the time of the Old Testament and today in the Church dispensation must be recognized; today there is a new and unique work of the Holy Spirit in relation to the Body of Christ for which there is no Old Testament parallel.

Also, with the completion of the entire canon of Scripture and the passing of the Apostolic era, speaking in tongues and the working of the other sign miracles are no longer wrought by the Holy Spirit in the life of the church today. These gifts served their purpose in the first entury church in authenticating the apostles and the gospel, and as signs to Israel. Jn. 3:3-8, Jn. 14:26, Eph. 1:13-14, Heb. 2:3-4, I Cor. 12:13, I Cor. 14:21.

ANGELS

We believe in the personal existence of angels.

Read More about Angels
They are created beings and were made to service and worship God. Because they are created, they are not to be worshiped themselves, even though they are a higher order of creation than man. Heb.1:14, Is. 6:2-3, Ps. 103:20.
SATAN & DEMONS

We believe in the personal existence of Satan and demons.

Read More about Satan & Demons
Satan was a created angel who, with the angels who kept not their first estate, fell through pride and became the enemy of God. Satan is the unholy prince of this age and all the powers of darkness and is destined to the judgment of eternal punishment in the lake of fire. Is. 14:12-17, Matt. 4:1-11,Eph. 6:11-12, Rev.20:13,7-10, Gen. 3:1-5.

MAN

Man was created in the image of God.

Read More about Man
We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature. Rom. 5:12-21.
SALVATION

Salvation of sinners is entirely by grace through the work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Read More about Salvation
We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly of grace through the mediatorial work of the Lord Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice. All who believe in Him are justified by His shed blood and are in possession of an eternally secure salvation. Eph. 2:8-9, 2 Tim. 1:9, Tit. 3:5, Heb. 7:25, Jn. 10:27-28.

THE CHURCH

The Church is the Body of Christ.

Read More about the Church
We believe in the unity of all true believers in the Church which is the Body of Christ, and that this is a distinctively New Testament organism, not to be confounded with the saved in the Old Testament. We believe the local church is an independent and self-governing company of baptized believers associated by covenant of faith and fellowship of the Gospel. It is the responsibility of the local church to observe the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, to edify the Body, and to evangelize the world. Matt. 28:19- 20, Acts 2:42, 46, 47, 8:30-39, I Cor. 11:23-26, Eph. 1:22-23, Eph. 5:25-27.

We believe in and practice the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

Read More about Ordinances
The ordinance of Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water to show forth, as a solemn and beautiful emblem, our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, symbolizing our death to sin and resurrection to a new life; it is a prerequisite for church membership. We believe that the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper is a commemoration of His death until He comes and should be preceded always by solemn self-examination. Acts 10:47-48, Rom. 6:3-4, I Cor. 11:23-33.
CHRIST’S RETURN

We believe in that blessed hope, which is the catching up of all believers, living and dead, at Christ’s imminent return.

that civil authorities are to be prayed for and conscientiously honored and obeyed, except in things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ who is the only Lord of the conscience, and the coming Prince of the kings of the earth. Matt. 22:21, Act 5:29, Rom. 13:1-7, I Tim. 2:1-2.

We believe in personal separation, that the Scriptures teach that every believer should be separated unto God from the world.

Read More about Personal Separation
By the aid of the Holy Spirit we should walk in Christian love and holiness, exhibiting qualities of honesty, integrity, forgiveness, and loving kindness. We also believe the Scriptures admonish every believer not to love the world or the things of the world, but rather to flee evil desires, and refrain from questionable practices which destroy one’s testimony, offend one’s brother and fail to glorify God. Rom. 14:19-21, I Cor. 6:18-20, I Pet. 5:5-6, Gal. 5:22-25.

That we should be a voice repudiating cooperation with movements which attempt to unite true Bible believers and other apostate cooperative spiritual efforts. Rom. 16:17, I Cor. 5:7-13, 2 Cor. 6:14, I Tim. 6:3-6, 2 Jn. 9-11.
MARRIAGE, SEXUALITY, GENDER IDENTITY

God’s Word is the final authority on sexuality, gender identity, and marriage.

God created man and woman in His own image. He designed marriage as a lifelong covenant relationship (1) between a man and woman (2) for the purposes of mutual companionship (3), bearing children (4), marital satisfaction (5), relational oneness, and to display the nature of the relationship between God and His people (6). Marriage is solely a union of one man and one woman in an enduring bond of commitment and fidelity. Every marriage is permanently binding under God’s authority (7). Marriage is not a human institution, but a divine one, imitated by God at creation and deemed good by Him along with all of God’s creation (8). God’s perfect plan for marriage is that it be a lifelong pursuit of intimacy between a man and a woman and that it never be ended by anything but death (9). We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s holy standards (10).
